Empoli lights up with light and art with “Luminaria – Empoli Light Art,” a new festival that will transform the city’s historic center into an open-air light gallery throughout the summer.
For this first edition, Goboservice participated as a technical sponsor, contributing one of the most significant visual interventions of the event.
The project took shape through the use of Divum 50K high-efficiency projectors used for architectural projection on the facades of the buildings facing Farinata degli Uberti Square and Victory Square.
The technical intervention was made possible thanks to the collaboration with the company Grandi Proiezioni, Goboservice’s partner for Tuscany, which took care of the installation of the projectors and the architectural mapping of the buildings, ensuring the precise alignment of the images with the architectural geometries. The projectors used are owned by the company Eva Eventi Srl, whose owner, Eros Condelli, also served as the festival’s artistic director. “It is thanks to the synergy between technical expertise and shared artistic vision,” the manager pointed out, “that the historic center of Empoli was able to shine in an unprecedented scenic guise.
The projected graphics were based on original works by DICò “The Fire Artist,” the stage name of Enrico Di Nicolantonio, an internationally renowned artist and leading figure in contemporary Pop Art who immediately after the splendid opening night said:
“I was engulfed in darkness, a time when all seemed lost and all certainty collapsed. But it was in the light of fire, a fire that destroys and at the same time creates, that I found myself again. Flame after flame, I rebuilt my identity, turning ashes into expression, pain into vision.
This evening was the most authentic and vivid reflection of that: a visual explosion of my rebirth, a stage where my art could speak for me, strong, raw, sincere. Thanks to those who made this experience possible: yesterday was not just an event, but a ritual, a living testimony of what I have become.”
Goboservice is proud to have contributed, with its technology and expertise, to the success of this project. With this intervention, light is confirmed once again, a fundamental tool of urban communication, helping to improve the experience of living in public space.
